What You Can Expect
My role as a counsellor is to help you achieve your goals. We work together to find solutions. I can give you tools to deal with your problems more effectively.
I will ask you questions about yourself and your situation so we can work together to achieve your goals. You do not have to answer questions or discuss anything you do not want to. You decide whether you would like to work on things that have happened in the past or to focus on the present, the future, or a combination of the three.
You decide how many sessions you would like to have or when you are ready to end counselling.
I often give people activities to do between counselling sessions to make the most of the sessions, but these are optional.
As a counsellor, I do not provide a crisis service. If you feel you are in danger of taking your own life contact the 24 hour Emergency Mental Health.
What to expect with online or distance counselling
Online or Video Counselling is done through Zoom, Skype or FaceTime. It is not a chat room so everything is confidential.
